“Bae Bae : The Verse of Scapegoats” is a series of art toys created as a symbol, a spokesman, reflecting the Thai political, social, and criminal justice system in the hope to raise awareness of these issues among Gen Z. Scapegoat exists in a Thai idiom expressing social status that is driven by capital, money, and power that cause unfair judgment of others leading to the consequences of someone else’s wrongdoing and others have to be responsible for actions they did not commit.
“แพะรับบาป” เป็นสำนวนไทย ที่ใช้กันมานานหลายศตวรรษ สะท้อนวัฒนธรรมที่ไม่พึงประสงค์ที่ยังมีให้เห็นและในปัจจุบัน สังคมที่ทุกสิ่งถูกขับเคลื่อนด้วยเม็ดเงิน ที่นำมาซึ่งอำนาจ โดยเฉพาะในระบบกระบวนการยุติธรรม ที่ปล่อยให้ผู้ที่มิได้กระทำผิดต้องเป็นผู้รับโทษ หรือรับความผิดความเสียหายที่ผู้อื่นกระทำไว้อย่างไม่เป็นธรรม ผลงงานอาร์ตทอย “BaeBae” จึงถูกสร้างขึ้นมาเพื่อใช้เป็นสัญลักษณ์ เพื่อสื่อสารและสร้างความตระหนักรู้ในปัญหา “แพะรับบาป” นี้ ในกลุ่มคนรุ่นใหม่ (Gen Z)
